Counselling
There are times when people find they need a counselling service, particularly in specialist areas. Ryan offers a specialism, knowledge and empathic support through counselling on several issues and can be a valuable addition to the ongoing self-development journey for individuals. Counselling can work seamlessly into the coaching relationship too. Ryan is a certified counsellor (ethical counselling in substance misuse) and has helped people with many issues holding them back in their lives. Specialist counselling areas include amongst others: drugs and substance misuse, self-harm, destructive behaviour, dealing with psychological and physical addiction, and positive and healthy relationships.
Specialist Support
Ryan has also worked with people who have recently left prison, and those at risk of returning, and can support work with Probation Services, Health Agencies, Social Services and Youth Justice Teams. Ryan has experience working with both adults and young people with various issues including: family relationships, problems at home, problems with depression, lack of motivation, limiting beliefs, self-sabotage, relationship issues, abuse/trauma, lack of confidence and self esteem, and with those who feel they have lost their way.

The Benefits of Counselling
Counselling offers the individual a trusted and empathic relationship to share their inner thoughts, feelings and concerns. The trusted relationship is paramount. Searching for the right counsellor and type of therapy can be challenging, and there is no one size fits all. However, those who get support can explore their concerns, anxieties, and emotional hurts and continue a more profound journey for their greater mental and emotional well-being.
Counselling Impact
Counselling outcomes for people can be far reaching. At times people are able to quickly resolve an issue they have had difficulty with within a shorter time, or fewer counseling sessions. At other times, counselling can be a longer process. However, the impact of counselling can help people feel better or understand more about themselves, and can also be a catalyst for motivating some amazing change in their lives.
Other Areas of Specialisms
Other areas of specialisms and integrated therapies, as part of his continuing professional development, will soon include; NLP, anger management, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), narcissistic abuse recovery and more. Ryan Donovan works within the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Guidelines.
